One of the “perks” of being a college basketball coach is the amount of camps and time you get to spend with local youth who have aspirations of playing basketball beyond their high school careers. The Central women’s basketball team wrapped up their final camp for 2014 last week with their team camp on July 28 and 29, and before that, held an individual skills camp for middle-school-through-high-school aged kids and a “Lil’ Hoopers Camp” for grades 1 – 6. Coach Chelsea Petersen says the clinics helped their campers develop their game a little more while showing what areas the kids could improve. The Dutch are preparing for their season opener, which is about three months away on November 15, on the road against Grinnell.
