A leaky gas tank spilled fuel at a gas station in Pleasantville Thursday afternoon.

Pleasantville Assistant Fire Chief Aaron Hurt says a couple of gallons of fuel leaked from a white Lincoln Towncar while a woman was fueling up at the Casey’s General Store on West Pleasant Street, just off Highway 5.

Pleasantville Fire and Rescue responded to the scene to ensure safe containment of the leak. Firefighters used shovels and brooms to spread peat moss over the spill and soak up the fuel.

No injuries were reported. Hurt says the woman said she’d just had work done on her car. The car was removed from the area by a tow truck.
