There were two big factors towards the end of the regular season that Pella High baseball coach, Jesse Jablonski noticed that had changed for the better from the first few games of 2014. They were big improvements, according to Jablonski, that helped his team as they were preparing for a lengthy stay in the postseason. The biggest positive change he says was the approach of his pitching staff when they got ahead of batters at the plate. The other improvement Jablonski says he noticed was in the number of quality at-bats his offense produced, which allowed them to defeat tough pitching in the playoffs. Pella went 26 – 14 in the 2014 season.
