The Knoxville High School was evacuated yesterday morning at approximately 9:30 after a fire alarm in the metal shop was activated.

Knoxville Fire and Rescue and the Knoxville Police Department responded to the scene. Knoxville Fire Chief Jim Mitchell tells KNIA/KRLS News that the alarm was triggered by a sensor malfunction.

Students were able to return to class after approximately 20 minutes.
