Earlier in the week baseball great Derek Jeter walked off in his final career at bat in Yankee Stadium…to give New York a win.Brian Birkhofer did the Late Model Nationals version of that last night. Birky made a last lap…last turn pass of Scott Bloomquist to win his second Late Model Nationals at the Knoxville Raceway. Birkhofer who has indicated all weekend he would step away from racing after this weekend confirmed that last night was his last late model race for the foreseeable future. Bloomquist finished point-three/eight/seven second behind Birkhofer with Mike Marlar in third place.
