Pella Christian went against a familiar face for the first time in Albia Head Coach Jerry Staton, and lost to their old coach’s Blue Devils in a 48-20 game heard live on KNIAKRLS.com. The Eagles kept it a back-and-forth contest in the first half until a big Albia 92-yard kick return for a touchdown, an Eagles turnover followed by a 14-yard passing touchdown just before the half, which gave the Blue Demons some breathing room on the scoreboard. Assistant Coach Darryl De Ruiter says it’s no surprise that Staton’s team came ready to play. The Eagles, now 2 – 1 on the season, kick-off district play on the road against Sigourney-Keota next Friday evening.
