Knoxville Cross Country Coach Michael Splavec was very pleased with how his boys and girls teams performed at the season opening meet last week.While the weather conditions could not have been worse with temperatures in the high 80s, he tells KNIA/KRLS that now the runners are looking forward to running in the Central College meet this Saturday and seeing where they are against much tougher competition. Knoxville will see Pella for the first time this season. While no longer conference rivals, the two schools are still in the same class and could very well see each other in the state qualifying meet at the end of the season.
