The Pella High volleyball team ended a winless drought during their stay at the Southeast Polk tournament on Saturday. The Lady Dutch went 1 – 3, picking up a victory over Des Moines Hoover, 21 – 8 and 21 – 8. Pella was swept in straight sets by Ankeny Centennial, Indianola and Cedar Rapids Jefferson. Makenna Bogaard had 18 kills on the day, Kiki Pingel added 27 assists, and Kenzie Nossaman had five ace serves. Pella’s girls are now 3 – 12 overall on the season, and they’ll get back to conference play next on Tuesday against Grinnell.
