Early momentum allowed the Knoxville Panthers to dominate the Centerville Big Reds Friday night, cruising to a 35-0 victory and ending their 11-game losing streak. Knoxville Head Coach Eric Kellar feels like the monkey is off his team’s back. The Panthers took advantage of a short field on their opening drive, capping off a 54-yard drive with a 9-yard touchdown run by Senior Tanner Dunkin. On the ensuing kickoff, Knoxville Senior John Mitchell forced a fumble by Centerville’s Graydon Schmidt, leading to a 1-yard score for Junior D.J. Snyder and giving Knoxville a 13-0 lead before the defense hit the field. The key play of the game would come with Connor Bailey’s 44-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter to make it 21-0. Bailey would rush for 121 yards and one touchdown on the evening. Knoxville will look to move over .500 for the first time since September 7th, 2012, when they go on the road to take on Fairfield next week. That game can be heard on AM 1320, FM 95.3 KNIA beginning at 7pm.
