Time punished Knoxville Friday night as their late rally against Fairfield fell short and the Panthers dropped a tough one, 20 to 14, as heard on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA. Three long sustaining drives by the Trojans, two of which resulted in touchdowns, shortened a game that was close throughout. Knoxville Head Coach Eric Kellar says everyone’s accountable. Knoxville quarterback Jared McClung ran for a score and connected with Tanner Dunkin on a 30-yard pass with just 17 seconds left for another. The Panthers recovered the ensuing onside kick on the Trojan 44, but were unable score before time ran out. The loss puts the Panthers at 1-2 on the season as they begin district play next Friday at home against Carlisle.
