Suffering a close loss to Fairfield in their final non-district game in Week Three, Knoxville football looks to recover to begin district play at home tonight against Carlisle. Knoxville kept it tight with the Trojans, and had a chance for a last-second win, but couldn’t quite make it happen in a 20 – 14 loss. The Wildcats have been looked at as one of the contenders for a Class 3A District 7 title, and have gotten off to a 2 – 1 start, with the one blemish being an overtime 27 – 24 defeat at the hands of Dallas Center – Grimes in game number one. Coach Eric Kellar says so far, his team has lived and died by their front line of attack on both sides of the ball.
