Suffering a close loss to Fairfield in their final non-district game in Week Three, Knoxville football looks to recover to begin district play at home tonight against Carlisle. Knoxville kept it tight with the Trojans, and had a chance for a last-second win, but couldn’t quite make it happen in a 20 – 14 loss. The Wildcats have been looked at as one of the contenders for a Class 3A District 7 title, and have gotten off to a 2 – 1 start, with the one blemish being an overtime 27 – 24 defeat at the hands of Dallas Center – Grimes in game number one. Coach Eric Kellar says so far, his team has lived and died by their front line of attack on both sides of the ball. Tony Correa has the call on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA and KNIAKRLS.com, with pregame coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. and kick-off at 7:30. Don’t forget to cheer on the Panthers with another “Panther Walk” from the high school to the stadium before the game. The team will leave the school at around 5:50 and walk down Robinson St. into Ken Locke Stadium.
