As House District 28 candidate Megan Suhr has spoken with voters in the district, one common comment being told to her is that more women need to work in the State Legislature.
“I firmly believe that a woman’s place is in the House of Representatives,” Suhr told KNIA/KRLS News. “There’s absolutely no reason in this day and age that women shouldn’t have as many representatives at the state-level as they do in our communities.”
The Marion County Democrats recently held a Meet & Greet event for Suhr and Democratic candidate for Governor Jack Hatch at the Peace Tree Brewing Company in Knoxville.
Suhr adds that many women she’s spoken with who’ve worked hard for women’s rights are grateful young women like her are interested in working in politics and representing her state.
