The Knoxville Boys Cross Country Squad finished third at the Albia Invitational a meet where it looked like a mock South Central Conference meet with nearly all of the S-C-C schools in attendance. The Panthers were led by Cade McNeill who crossed the line in eighth and Chase Larson who was tenth. Coach Michael Splavec told KNIA/KRLS Sports both McNeill and Larson were under the 19 minute mark for the first time this season, and all of the guys ran in a great pack. The girls were fourth as Lucy Olson and Sydney Washington were the top two for Knoxville. Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS he has not found that one girl that can lead the pack consistently, and that may be an advantage. The Panthers will run at Newton today. Splavec says he may give some of his runners the day off to rest for their meet at P-C-M on Thursday.
