For the fourth time in just seven weeks, the Pella High football team will have to tackle a ranked foe, this time away from their district, when the Little Dutch travel to face Newton. The Cardinals are led by senior quarterback, Tyler Wood, who has thrown for over 650 yards and seven touchdowns, while rushing for another 450-plus and five more scores. Coach Jay McKinstrey says Wood is just an all-around talented athlete. Coach McKinstrey also says tonight’s contest could be a “statement game” moving forward with the playoffs not too far away.
