Pella Christian won their regional tournament opener last night over Des Moines Christian in four sets, 25 – 17, 25 – 10, 25 – 27, and 25 – 23. Rebecca Gritters had 16 kills, Christa Veenstra had 11 kills and two blocks for the Eagles yesterday. Pella Christian unfortunately lost Andrea Horstman to an injury in game three and is questionable for Friday’s game against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, who knocked Pella Christian out of the playoffs last year. Coach Cindy Nikkel says the injury was a turning point in the match. The Eagles and Rockets do battle in the Class 2A regional semifinals this Friday night in Eddyville at 7:00 p.m. The Rockets defeated Pleasantville in the quarters yesterday, 25 – 13, 25 – 13, and 25 – 9.
