On a relatively sloppy night for both schools, Pella Christian swept Knoxville in non-conference volleyball action yesterday, 25 – 23, 25 – 17, and 25 – 20. The Eagles took advantage of some poor serve-receive by the Panthers, but Knoxville kept hanging around and had their chances, only to fall short. Andrea Horstman unofficially had 15 kills and six aces, and Alyssa Starkey led the Eagles with seven aces. For Knoxville, Cheyenne Jones recorded five kills and two aces to lead the Panther charge. Eagles’ coach, Cindy Nikkel says there were high and low points from her team last night. Pella Christian improves to 18 – 9 on the year, the Panthers fall to 10 – 15. Knoxville will be at the Pella invitational tomorrow, and the Eagles are next at Dallas Center – Grimes on Monday.
