Knoxville’s playoff run was short-lived as the number four seed fell to number-one seeded Dallas Center-Grimes 28-13 Wednesday night, in a game that was live on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA. Knoxville Head Coach Eric Kellar says it wasn’t due to a lack of preparation by his Panther squad. It was only a 7-0 DCG lead at the half, but a pair of third quarter touchdowns, including an 80-yard punt return by Trey Washington, gave the Mustangs an insurmountable three touchdown lead. Two fourth quarter touchdowns by Trent Davis would get Knoxville on the scoreboard. Davis finished with three catches for 40 yards and two touchdowns. The loss means Knoxville finishes their season at 4-6.
