Call it home court advantage, call it whatever you like, but the Pella High volleyball team went 4 – 1 in their own tournament on Saturday. The Lady Dutch won in straight sets over North Mahaska, PCM, and the team they’ll face in the first round of the Class 4A regional tournament in a few weeks, Knoxville. Greene County got up by a set on Pella, 21 – 15, before the gals in green answered with a 21 – 18 and 15 – 10 pair of victories for their fourth match win of the day. However, Pella stumbled with Mediapolis, losing in three, 10 – 21, 21 – 19, and 12 – 15. Makenna Bogaard had 40 kills total for the tournament, Jenna Murphy had 45 digs, and setter Kiki Pingel racked up 80 assists. The Lady Dutch are now 16 – 19 on the season, and they have just two regular season games left, both of them conference games, starting with a home match versus Newton this Tuesday.
