A new item at the Marion County Jail has made things more efficient and convenient for jail staff and customers alike.

A Cobra Cashier Kiosk has been installed the lobby to allow family and friends to leave money on inmates’ commissary accounts. This will free up jail staff as they will no longer need to handle cash transactions.

The kiosk accepts cash, check, credit card, or money orders. In the near future, the kiosk will also likely allow the payment of inmate bonds. It’s funded through revenue from the inmate accounts and there will be no cost to the County.
