Seven first half touchdowns by Iowa City Regina quarterback, Doug Cook, were more than enough to bury Pella Christian last night for the Class 1A District 6 championship, 63 – 14. Both of Pella Christian’s scores were long strikes from signal-caller, David Kacmarynski downfield; a 66-yard strike to Levi Jungling, and then another in the second quarter that bounced off of Jungling and directly into the hands of Dillon Bruxvoort for their second and final score. Assistant coach, Darryl DeRuiter, says that there were many positives to take away from last night’s loss. The Eagles had no turnovers in the loss, which drops them to 6 – 3 on the season, and they end up with the number two seed out of their district. Pella Christian will host Central Decatur in first a round playoff game next on Wednesday.
