Melcher-Dallas’ volleyball team graduated a good group of seniors last year and left behind a fairly young team waiting for their turn in the spotlight. A lot of these girls had not played much volleyball at the varsity level before, and many of them were tentative at the beginning of the season, which led to a 3 – 11 start. However, as the year went on, Coach Tatum Starcevich says her group of Saints learned to believe in themselves more which led to a better product on the court. Melcher-Dallas finished winning four of their last eight, including a first round regional tournament win over Twin Cedars, whom they had lost to in four sets earlier in the year. The Saints finished 7 – 15 on the season and will graduate two seniors from the varsity team.
