The Central College football team pitched its first shutout in over four years on Saturday, beating Simpson 17-0 to earn it’s fourth straight Iowa Conference victory. Aaron Eiseler threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Sam Markham early in the second quarter as the Dutch led 7-0 at halftime, before scoring on the opening drive of the third quarter. The Dutch would add a Kevin Sheldon field goal in the fourth quarter to finish the scoring, and the defense kept the Storm off the scoreboard despite three different drives into the red zone. Central is 6-2 on the season and tied for second place at 4-1 in the Iowa Conference with Buena Vista. The Dutch will battle the Beavers next week in Storm Lake. Hear more about the Simpson game, and preview of next Saturday, when Dutch head coach Jeff McMartin joins us live at Applebee’s Monday night from 7 to 7:30 live on the KRLS2 stream at www.kniakrls.com.
