The old saying is, “all good things come to an end.” At some point, high school senior athletes will eventually play their final game of any sport they participate in, and for all but one team, those careers end with a loss, unless you become a state champion. Pella Christian’s football team hosted Central Decatur a couple of weeks ago in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs, but unfortunately was defeated, 38 – 14. Assistant coach, Darryl DeRuiter says there is a shock that goes into playing your final game. The Eagles went 6 – 4 in 2014 and lost nine seniors from the varsity team.
