Beginning the 2014-15 season the same way the last one ended, Pella Christian’s girls’ basketball team is on the road at Van Meter tonight to open up regular season play. The Eagles are without Lauren Jungling and Savanna Baugh, but bring back a lot of young talent that saw their first varsity playing time of their careers last season. Included in that is Tessa Howerzyl, who will look to lead this team that’s comprised of five seniors, three sophomores, a junior and a freshman. Coach Kevin Van Maanen says he is looking for his team to execute against the Bulldogs. Tip-off of the Eagles’ season tonight is at 7:30 p.m.
