Participating for Newton, a pair of Pella High swimmers performed very well at the State Meet this past Saturday in Marshalltown. Junior Samantha Hedrick was the runner up in the 100 yard butterfly event in a time of 56.09. Sara Martin is the other swimmer from Pella, and she joined Hedrick in the 200 free relay, which Newton placed 13th in. Hedrick was a member of the eighth place Cardinals’ 200 Medley Relay, and Newton was ninth in the 400 Free Relay.
