We’ve seen it quite a bit over the past several years in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Pella Christian, a Class 2A school for both boys and girls, winning a league title over schools that are Class 3A or 4A, which is what the other six teams in the conference are classified as. It happened most recently in volleyball, where the Eagles tied for a conference championship with Dallas Center – Grimes with a 5 – 1 record. Coach Cindy Nikkel says the size of her school as compared to the others is not something she really thinks about. Nikkel says she feels her team will once again be competitive when the 2015 starts up. Pella Christian went 24 – 12 overall this season.
