Senior free safety, Jacob Edleman, garnered recognition as an all-American for the Central football team. Edleman was tops in the Iowa Conference with seven interceptions, two of them were turned into “Pick-Six’s.” His seven picks also ranked tied for fifth in the country in Division III football. The Dutch senior recorded 48 tackles, 28 of them solo, in 2014 and was named to the first-team all-conference. Edleman is the 15th Dutch to receive the American Football Coaches Association all-American honor, and first since 2000 honoree, Jeff Sanger. Jacob Edleman’s strong play this season also helped him get named a finalist for the 2014 Cliff Harris Award, which is presented to the nation’s top small college defensive player from a D-2, D-3, or NAIA school. The senior is one of 70 finalists overall, with the winner to be announced on Christmas Eve, December 24.
