The Central women’s basketball team passed another non-conference road test on Wednesday, defeating AIB in Des Moines, 56 – 51. The Dutch led by nine at intermission, and used clutch free throws down the stretch to hold on for the win. Mariah Swartzentruber was the leading scorer for both teams, depositing 18 points, while Rachel Evans finished with a double-double effort of 17 points and 11 rebounds, and also came up with six steals. Central’s women even up with the men at a 6 – 1 mark, and they’ll next be at home on Saturday for a battle with Augustana.
