It’s their penultimate game before the conference schedule starts, and the Central women’s basketball team is hoping to take with them a total record of 9 – 2 into league play, but first must defeat visiting Lakeland College out of Wisconsin this afternoon. The Dutch have won four of their past five, with their last game coming before Christmas break in a 79 – 60 thrashing of Webster in St. Louis. Coach Chelsea Petersen says she’ll be looking at how her team plays after the layover. Petersen adds if her team can clean up things on the defensive end, they should be able to take care of business against Lakeland. The Muskies have struggled through their first nine games, amassing a 2 – 7 record, and an 0 – 4 mark away from their home gym. Today’s game inside of the P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.
