Save for slow first quarters, Pella Christian’s boys’ and girls’ basketball teams were hot for most of the night on Friday, sweeping Oskaloosa in a doubleheader that was live on KNIAKRLS.com. The Eagles’ gals were victorious 54 – 26, after holding the Indians to 12 first half points. Brooke Mitrisin was the catalyst on offense, scoring 16 points, while Hannah Beltman made her presence known in the post, with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Pella Christian’s boys walloped Oskaloosa, 68 – 41. The Eagles used an 11 – 0 run in the second quarter to run away with the game early. Levi Jungling scored a game-high 24 points, while David Kacmarynski contributed 14. Pella Christian’s girls are 4 – 1 on the year while the boys improve to 5 – 0. The boys are off until next Friday to host Pella High, while the girls play Monday against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
