Eight games in, and all things considered, the Pella High girls’ basketball team is content with where they are at as they get some time off for the holidays. The Lady Dutch are at 6 – 2, and they are undefeated in Little Hawkeye Conference contests with a 3 – 0 mark. Pella’s only two setbacks are to ranked Carlisle and Ballard, both on the road. Though not happy with the result of those two games, Coach Jerod Garland is still pleased with the growth he’s seen from his team since then. The Wildcats are currently ranked sixth in Class 4A while the Bombers are fourth. The Lady Dutch have also picked up big triumphs over Dallas Center – Grimes and a come-from-behind win over Grinnell. Pella’s gals begin 2015 with road trips in three of their first four games, starting with a trip to Ankeny Christian Academy on January 5.
