The Knoxville Basketball Squads will play their first South Central Conference games in nearly two decades tonight when the Panthers travel to Albia for their S-C-C openers. The girls already have one game under their belt, a 54-47 win over P-C-M on November 21st. It is a more experienced team this year for Coach Jim Uitermarkt and he says before the season the girls had a goal of 13 wins, but after a few days of practice, they wanted to raise that number to 15. The Panther boys meanwhile, are looking to improve on a six win season from last year that saw them steadily improve throughout. Coach Jeff Larson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he wants them to get better each time they hit the court whether it is in a game or practice. You can hear the play-play on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA with Derek Cardwell and Mike Cunningham at six.
