PCM’s basketball teams have a good chance to run their current winning streaks up to three tonight if they can get by struggling North Polk over in Alleman. The Mustangs’ girls just recently dropped from the rankings, but have rolled of late thanks to some stingy defense. PCM has allowed just 51 points the last two games against Colfax-Mingo and C-M-B while scoring 120 of their own. The Comets’ ladies are young, which may be the understatement of the year. Their roster features no seniors, one junior, eight sophomores, and a freshman. North Polk’s boys have had their troubles offensively, which is good news for the PCM gentlemen, who have allowed just 81 points during their current surge, while the Comets have eclipsed the 50-point barrier only once on their way to a 2 – 3 record. Tonight’s doubleheader is at North Polk and the girls’ game comes first at 6:00 p.m.
