They’re currently sitting at polar ends of the Little Hawkeye Conference standings, Pella High and Pella Christian’s boys’ basketball teams are getting ready for a big game against one another at the quarter-way point of the 2014-15 season. The Eagles are 2 – 0 with wins over Oskaloosa and Newton, while Pella has lost to two arguably tougher opponents in Grinnell and Dallas Center – Grimes. Eagles’ coach, Larry Hessing, says regardless of records, his team needs to prepare for a battle tomorrow. Coach Mark Core agrees, and says the winner of the league this year won’t have a goose egg or even just one loss in conference play. Tomorrow’s boys’ game follows the girls’ contest, and both can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS with pre-game starting at around 5:45 p.m.
