Two games and two close victories under their belt, the Pella Christian girls’ basketball team is showing no signs of inexperience thus far. The first game of the season against Van Meter, the Eagles had a big lead but had to hold on to it late. Just two nights ago, Pella Christian had to fight from behind to steal one away from A-D-M. Coach Kevin Van Maanen says a big factor, which was evident in Tuesday’s win over the Tigers, was the play of his seniors. Van Maanen adds the girls are showing a lot of mental toughness early on, which is a good sign moving forward. The Eagles will open up their conference slate tomorrow night on the road against Newton.
