Pleasantville’s hoops teams came up with a blowout win and loss last night against Martensdale – St. Mary’s. The Trojans’ girls were routed 65 – 43; Kennedy Core scored 23 points and grabbed six boards, and Bailey Oliva threw in another nine for Pleasantville. The boys had better luck with a rebuilding Blue Devils team, winning 67 – 38. Trever Zoss had 26 points, 14 of which came in the first quarter, and had 18 total in the first half. Sophomore Brady Elder also had 13 for the Trojan boys, who are now 3 – 1 on the season, while the girls drop to 1 – 4. Pleasantville is off until Tuesday to hit the road to face I-35 for a Pride of Iowa Conference doubleheader.
