For the eighth consecutive time, Pella High basketball swept their opponents in doubleheader action. Last night, it was A-D-M that were the victims, despite poor foul shooting by the Dutch in both contests, that were broadcast live on 92.1 KRLS. The Lady Dutch conquered deficits of 12 and nine-points to come back with a strong fourth quarter to win, 56 – 49. Ciara Buchheit scored 11 of her team’s 17 points in that last period to help them along. Buchheit finished with a game-high 17, and Jessica Holterhaus had 13, as Pella’s girls have now won nine straight and are 11 – 2 overall. The Little Dutch led for most of the game, and prevailed, 61 – 49. Payson Vande Lune and Isaac Naaktgeboren each had 13 for the Little Dutch. Pella’s girls were 18-for-32 from the free throw line, and the boys were 18-of-30. The Tigers’ squads combined only attempted 12 on the night. The Little Dutch are now 10 – 2 overall, and both Pella teams get back to conference play on Friday with a big twinbill versus Dallas Center – Grimes.
