In different cities for the first time this season, Pella Christian’s basketball teams grabbed two road wins on Saturday night. The Eagles’ girls blitzed Earlham, 68 – 32. The game was 40 – 18 at the half, and many reserves were able to play in the second half for Coach Kevin Van Maanen. Brooke Mitrisin led all scorers with a game-high 26 points, Hannah Beltman tallied 14, and Autumn Vos scored ten. The Eagles’ boys faced some adversity against Albia, trailing by two at intermission, but played strong in the second half to beat the Blue Demons, 58 – 49. Two Eagles put together a double-double effort; David Kacmarynski had 18 points and 15 rebounds, and Josh Posthuma tallied 17 and 11, respectively. PC’s girls are now 7 – 2 on the season, the boys’ mark is 6 – 2, and they are back to conference play on Tuesday on the road to Grinnell.
