It was a pair of tough losses for Pella Christian after falling on the road to the Grinnell Tigers in a doubleheader heard live on 92.1 KRLS. The Eagles fell 43-24 to Grinnell, and Girls’ Coach Kevin Van Maanen says they need to figure out how to get the offense going with Tessa out for at least the rest of the week. Despite a more competitive game on the boys’ side of things, they didn’t fare much better against Grinnell, losing 57-50. The Eagles were unable to muster any points from the bench, and missed six free throws during the final four minutes of the game as they tried to come back against the Tigers. Boys’ Coach Larry Hessing says they’ll need the bench to score some points if they want to win tough conference games. The 7-3 girls and 6-3 boys remain on the road for a conference match-up with Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday night.
