Pella High’s big come-from-behind win in their girls’ basketball game against Grinnell a few weeks ago has had several benefits for the Lady Dutch. Pella used a 23 – 2 run at one point down the stretch of the third quarter to turn a double-digit deficit into a lead, before holding on for a 68 – 66 victory. The “W” gave the Lady Dutch their, at the time, second straight in the conference, and, says head coach, Jerod Garland, a nice shot in the arm for his team. The defense has not let up since then for Pella’s girls, as they haven’t allowed a team to score more than 40 points since that win over the Tigers, en route to a 6 – 2 mark and they remain unscathed in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Lady Dutch play their next conference game next Friday against Norwalk.
