The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad pulled away from a tight game in the fourth quarter to dispose of Centerville last night 68-54. The Panthers led by just six points heading into the final stanza, and started the quarter on an 8-0 run to put away the Big Reds. Assistant Coach Greg Higginbotham told KNIA/KRLS Sports the overall team hustle most impressed him. Chase Larson led the Panthers with 20 points as Knoxville improves to 6-3 on the season and 5-1 in the South Central Conference which ties Albia for the conference lead. The Panthers now will have a showdown with the Blue Demons for first place in the conference on Friday. The Knoxville girls jumped on Centerville early and often to win going away 59-30. Meredith Cunningham led the Panthers with 19 points. Knoxville moves to 9-0 on the season and 6-0 in conference play. The ladies will also host Albia on Friday.
