The intensity of the Pella High boys’ basketball team’s defense so far during the 2014-15 season has had its benefits, but it has also had its drawbacks. The Little Dutch rank among the bottom half in Class 3A in steals, but it’s not from a lack of effort. Coach Mark Core feels that if his team can keep up their ferociousness on defense, their timing, and takeaways, will improve. Despite the lack of steals, Pella still ranks second in Class 3A in point differential through seven games, winning their games by an average of 21 points.
