In a make-up from a few weeks ago, PCM basketball hosts Nevada for the first time this evening. The Cubs’ ladies are ranked seventh in the state in Class 3A, and scarier yet, have only one senior on the squad who accounts for one half of one percent of their scoring this year. Their only loss was when their all-conference post player was injured against Greene County. Mustangs’ coach, Bret Grier, says that both schools have one glaring Achilles heel, which he hopes his team can take advantage of. Rachel Freland could join her teammate, Courtney Van Houweling, in the 1,000 point club, if she can score at least 14 points tonight. Nevada’s boys are 7 – 5, and are led by Cole Gidel, who averages around 17 points per game this season, but the team as a whole shoots just 36% from the field, one of the worst in the conference. Tonight’s doubleheader is scheduled to tip-off in Monroe at 6:00 p.m.
