PCM and C-M-B split in their alphabet soup doubleheader in Monroe on the hardwood last night. The Mustangs clobbered the Raiders’ girls, 52 – 31. PCM got off to a slow start, scoring just five first quarter points, but outscored C-M-B, 15 – 4 in the second. Rachel Freland scored 19 points and had seven steals in the win, and went over 1,000 points for her career. The Raiders and Mustangs’ boys combined for 33 first half points, but C-M-B scored 21 points in each of the last two periods to defeat PCM, 56 – 46. Coach Fred Lorensen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team just couldn’t score. Trey Lindsay scored 17 points. The PCM girls improve to 12 – 5, the boys drop to 12 – 4, and they are each back at it on Friday against North Polk.
