Senior Otis Roby, member of the 2014 Class 1A state baseball champion Twin Cedars Sabers, signed his letter of intent yesterday to play baseball at Southeastern Community College.
In his four seasons since being an incoming freshman at Twin Cedars, Roby has done well on the field, on the mound, and at the plate. Through four campaigns, the senior has amassed a .435 batting average, 29 doubles, three homers and 125 RBI’s, to go along with a 0.90 ERA pitching, a 33 – 3 record, 127 hits allowed in over 225 innings pitched, and 344 strikeouts. Coach Schulte of Southeastern tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it was an easy pick to get Roby, as he reminds him of a “classic” baseball player, in the sense that Otis does everything well and shows good character off the diamond. The Senior Saber still has a basketball season in front of him, though, and he’ll try to lead his team to their sixth win of the season this evening against Orient-Macksburg.
