The first nine games of the Melcher-Dallas girls’ basketball season have been a roller coaster. The Saints started the year with a win over Wayne that saw them prevail despite having just three girls on the court at the final buzzer due to foul-out disqualifications. They’ve notched a few victories thanks to some sharp shooting and rigid defense, but both have not shown up in their losses, including a 48 – 17 setback versus Murray in their final game of 2014. With the ups-and-downs of the first half of their schedule over, Coach Jon Suntken hopes his Saints find that level ground while still grabbing those “W’s.” Melcher-Dallas is back into the Bluegrass Conference on Tuesday for a road game against Moravia.
