The Pleasantville girl’s basketball team had a hard fought battle against Nodaway Valley on the road Friday night, but fell in the later stages of the game 57-42. The Lady Trojans trailed the entire game and were able to pull within seven points in the second half, but Nodaway Valley was able to seal the game late. Pleasantville’s Kennedy Core led all scorers with 22 points, her fourth 20 point plus performance of the year. The Lady Trojans are 1-8 on the year. The Pleasantville boy’s basketball team trailed 28-26 at half, but four straight three’s from Nodaway Valley to open the second half proved to be much as the Trojans fell 66-54. Trevor Zoss led the Trojans with 19 points and junior Zeb Adreon added 17 points. Head coach Tom Wilkins stresses the importance of the game Saturday night against Chariton. Pleasantville moves to 4-4 on the year with the loss. Both games were heard on kniakrls.com and both teams are back in action on the road tonight to take on Chariton.
