Three points separate the Central men’s track and field team and Wartburg after the first day of the Iowa Conference indoor meet on Friday. The Knights have 53 points to Central’s 50, while Wartburg’s women also hold the lead, with Central tied for fourth with Loras, 15 points out of first. Eric Larson won the long jump, which is fourth in Division III, and the distance medley relay team topped their outstanding time they put up in Boston to win their event. The women’s 4 x 200 meter relay team set a school record at 1:43.51, and Meredith Zimmerman had a record 60-meter hurdles time of 8.97 seconds. The action gets back going this morning in Waverly at 9:00 a.m.
