Only 16 teams remain in Class 4A girls’ basketball, and after tonight, eight will have their tickets punched to Wells Fargo Arena next week for the state tournament. Pella High and Carlisle clash at Southeast Polk for their regional final, in a rematch of a lopsided affair from very early in the season. The Wildcats punished the Lady Dutch, 81 – 46, in their home gym back on December 2. Pella’s only other loss was to Ballard, whom Carlisle split the conference season meet-ups with. Coach Jerod Garland says that game is still in the back of their minds, and he wants his girls to shut down the Wildcats’ talented offense tonight.
