For the second straight day Saturday, the Central College softball team split a doubleheader inside the Rochester Bubble, beating Wisconsin-Eau Claire 7-1 before falling to the BluGolds 6-1. The Dutch played 4 games over the course of 23 hours, and an exhausted head coach George Wares was happy with his team’s progress in its season opening weekend. The 12th-ranked Dutch will resume action this Friday in Tucson, Arizona, where they’ll play 16 games in 9 days. Trevor Castle will be making the trip, calling 4 games over the first 4 days live on www.kniakrls.com.
